My belief is that women should not need a prescription for birth control once they reach reproductive age, my view is that this can lower the # of teenage abortions, and once birth control isn't needed for prescriptions, the cost will go down dramatically, which is always a good thing, I also believe that women shouldn't be subject to an ultrasound if they choose to end a pregnancy, it's their body. I also believe that health insurance plans must cover these doctors because it's of utmost importance that women receive proper care when they have health insurance.

One thing that is interesting to me is that teenage pregnancy is a disappearing epidemic. Teenage pregnancy has been down over the last couple of years and becoming extinct. That being said, I think have this bill on the floor provides an interesting debate, and I want any opponents to elaborate their opposition.

While I am pro-choice, I also believe we should do what we can to ensure that as few abortions occur as possible without infringing upon a woman's right to choose.  This bill is a step in that direction and has my support for that reason.  However, I would still like to hear the arguments of any of my colleagues who oppose this bill.

Why should girls under 16 require a prescription for birth control? If you're of reproductive age, and at the age of consent especially, which I think is, what, 14? Then you should have access to birth control.

Is the age of consent 14 due to federal or regional law?

I motion for a final vote, seeing as there doesn't seem to be much more debate going on here.
