For the most part.  I can work a screwdriver a keyboard/mouse and take sh**t apart/put sh**t back together.  My penmanship is pure ass though.

Yes. It takes me a bit longer to figure things out than, say, someone who does a lot of home repair, but I can definitely do things on my own. Last weekend I swapped out a kitchen faucet, sealed up the doors and windows to the house, and put together an IKEA chest of drawers. A few weeks before, I'd replaced / rewired a chandelier in our dining room. A couple of years ago, I kept replacing fuses on my furnace until I'd troubleshot the real issue and fixed it myself (only had to endure a couple of chilly nights).

Those are basics, but I've never been afraid to dive in and try something myself first.

Not very, but the answer may change if applied to different scenarios.

No.  Don't let me near anything that you don't want destroyed.

Moderately so.  I've managed to assemble Sauder furniture without any catastrophes.  My usual contribution to the July potluck dinner (my church has one the first Sunday of each month after the service) is a sheet cake decorated to look like a 13 star flag.  There are other handcrafts I could tackle if I had the inclination, but I'm certainly not an adept at them.

Only in playing the piano, oddly enough. In all other respects (sewing, Material and Design Classes, video games, dissecting) I'm pretty dire.

Yes, and my job depends on it.

Using most sorts of tools?  Not so much.  It's more like cashiering at a super-quick speed, never chopping my fingers while lacerating fruits and vegetables, preparing the coffee shots, that sort of stuff.

And somewhere in a nondescript IRC chatroom...many groans were just heard.

Same here.  I think tool skills are just a matter of exposure.....I played the piano starting from a young age, so I got good at that.  But I didn't have that much mechanical exposure......sure, I can tell a Phillipshead from a flat, but I'm hardly an extraordinaire with DIY.

I was shocked it took this long for someone to make that kind of joke. I thought it was the obvious reference.

Anyway, yes. Tongue
