The Republican minority outreach continues unabated.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/guiliani-white-police-officers-ferguson

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) got into a heated argument about race and crime with Georgetown professor Michael Eric Dyson during a discussion on Ferguson, Mo.

"But the fact is, I find it very disappointing that you're not discussing the fact that 93 percent of blacks in America are killed by other blacks. We're talking about the exception here," Giuliani said on NBC's "Meet the Press" while discussing whether police forces reflect the demographics of the communities they serve.

Dyson called this a "false equivalency."

"Can I say this, first of all, no black people who commit crimes against other black people go to jail. Number two, they are not sworn by the police department as a agent of the state to uphold the law," he said. "So in both cases, that's a false equivalency that the mayor has drawn, which is exacerbated tensions that are deeply imbedded in American culture."

Later in the argument Giuliani argued that while police officers are only present in certain communities because black people are committing crimes.

"It is the reason for the heavy police presence in the black community," he said. "White police officers won't be there if you weren't killing each other 70 percent of the time."

Dyson shot back at Giuliani and said, "this is a defense mechanism of white supremacy at work in your mind."

What have Democrats done for those people except pay them to forgo skills/career and preach the existence of a vast right-wing conspiracy? I'm sure your little plantation gives you a sense of self-importance, but it's time to close up shop and move into the 21st century.

Maybe you're too young to remember the time when poor violent neighborhoods protested local public services and the federal government for refusing to serve their neighborhoods. Racism was the rallying cry back then, and it's still the rallying cry now that police serve once-neglected areas.

Democrats are just expressing outrage that their bullsh*t policies don't fix anything. Poor people are still poor and helpless, and the lower-middle class ladder out of poverty is blown to hell. Naturally, Dems issue more food stamps, Medicaid, and unemployment checks. Then they start trolling Republicans until they find someone to take the bait.

It's a brilliant strategy, as long as you have an appetite for needless human suffering. Do you think Landslide or Lief know anything about fixing poverty or violent crime? Do you think they care as long as they can buy a constituency and indoctrinate them to a certain world view?

He quite literally deported the homeless on buses. And he sent them literally in front of my dad's truck lot. My dad has Polaroid pictures of three buses parked along MLK Blvd with the men exiting the buses with their stuff. It was quite the event.

And how's the patronizing approach of telling minorities that they were better off and are better off when they are at the mercy of people who think they are barely even people?  They don't want these people here and the people there obviously don't want to be there...or maybe this is Iraq and the a lot of those people are in uniform because they want to be there, but I doubt it.

I wouldn't know. You'll have to ask the Democratic Party.

Yes... because making them available for those that need them is the same as Barack himself prancing into the middle of the slum and making it rain.

This is the standard GOP defense for your sick brand of Social Darwinism, and it even allows the other GOP standard (complete and utter BS) to get interwoven into your argument.  Dems just give handouts and don't fix anything.  That is why job growth and economic growth seem to be exclusive to Democratic policy since the 1980s, when the Reagan model of trickle-down completely took over.

Shut up.

A merely accurate statement that, of course, liberals will all take umbrage at.

Shut up.

You can't have it both ways. You can't accuse the GOP of conspiring to exploit every citizen as low-cost human capital, while simultaneously accusing the GOP of leaving unemployed people in the gutter to die.

Historically speaking, the former accusation is more accurate than the latter, which means the poor are left to beg for handouts because Democrats have decided the entitlement lifestyle is more fair and dignified than allowing corporations to pay market wage for unskilled inexperienced labor. Because the liberal political construct is a false dichotomy, the solution makes the US worse off.

People tend to be killed by people that they live near. Black people tend to live near black people, for a whole lot of reasons. But of course, Giuliani making out like blacks are somehow inherently more violent is "a merely accurate statement".

Sarcasm, I don't like Fascism being categorized as far-right when the moderate politicians are usually the ones who are closer to it.

I think the "no" there may have been a transcription error.  Dyson's point was that unlike cops who kill black people, black people who kill black people go to jail.

Exactly. Blame the good guys. These people disgust me, especially since they're weak minded and weak principled.

murders or not, cops are going to have to patrol those neighborhoods so they can get enough black & browns popped on drug charges so we can fill all the prisons we built in the 80s and 90s.
