The topic title and poll question are asking opposite questions.

God forbid someone enthusiastically supports a presidential candidate on a political forum. Tongue

IceSpear's Hillary hackishness vs. KCDem's overall Democrat hackishness.

Hardly.  If IceSpear and others (who have time for it) weren't at it defending her, the sexism and misogyny of this virtually all-male forum would go unchecked.

No. I don't see anything wrong with being passionate about a particular candidate, and IceSpear is at least honest that he is a hack. I dislike hacks when they pretend they aren't hacks and worry about them when they slip into delusion.

And yes, a lot of people are far more hackish about people like Sanders, Paul, Walker etc. and are never called out on it.

While I wish IceSpear would pick a better candidate to support, he is hardly the most hackish person here. I actually find him really funny and enjoy his contributions to the forum.

Thank you! I mean, aren't most of us hacks to some degree? I only get so much flack for it because Hillary is one of the few politicians the Atlas lefties and righties agree is horrible.

Are we defining hack as someone who is slavishly devoted to their candidate of choice, or as someone who is both slavishly devoted to said candidate *and* shamelessy spins all news as being favorable to said candidate?  Because I'd thought that in Atlas usage, "hack" meant that you were spinning every piece of news in a favorable way towards your candidate(s), yet at least some of the above posters are fairly realistic about their candidates' electoral prospects, even if they're not happy about it.  For example, I can't think of any Bernie Sanders supporters here who actually think he's likely to win the Democratic nomination.

In that case I'd be realistic about Hillary's chances as well, considering she's virtually guaranteed the Democratic nomination if she runs and is currently the favorite in the general (which by the way, I've never said she was a lock to win).

I just think he's takes every criticism of her a little too seriously. At least he's not one of these people who see dog-whistles in every negative post about her:

Some people disagree with her politics, her party affiliation, her record, and her history. And some of those people happen to be male. Things just are what they are; don't have to read into everything so much. Like damn, people, this is gonna be a long two years on this forum.

On the sexism topic, I don't automatically assume anyone who opposes Hillary is sexist just because they're a male. What grinds my gears is when people hold her to standards they don't hold male Democrats to.
