Greek/Russian Orthodox because Eastern/Northern European women are hot.
Nevermind, I'm Brazilian and not Greek or Russian. Either way, I would date a woman from any sane religion (Scientology, Nation of Islam and Jehovah's Witnesses are excluded)

All the weird-sounding Old Worldy ones that seem like they're made up (Syriac!?) are presumably pluses. But I'm not optimistic that I'll have the choice to marry religiously.

Mormon temples aren't used that way.

Fortunately, given the social circles in which I move I don't have to consider this question.

Also - you would date that person outside, not inside of the religious place.

Good luck looking for someone to "date" in a mosque lol
So who would you date, since you are presumably the only Muslim who responded?

I didn't vote in the poll since the very idea of "dating" is unislamic (as it is normatively practiced in the Western world, which is almost certainly what this poll means and what every other poster talks about in these threads).
I consider dating without any sexual interaction to be dating.

Asexual and leaning more aromantic as well I'd say, but I would exclusively date mainline Protestants and progressive/lapsed Catholics and Orthodox. And since those people tend to be much older, my pool would already be pretty darn small. God sure knows how to work things out! Smile

I would like to be in a long-term relationship with someone who does not believe in god or is at least not heavily religious. Nothing against followers of any of these faiths, but I would prefer a partner who is on the same page as me regarding religion.

Where someone attends religious services will basically never be a dealbreaker for me independent of the rest of their personality/views. A red flag if they attended a fundamentalist service of any variety? Yes, but not a deal-breaker if they otherwise seem like a well-adjusted and moral person. Really the only case I can think of when I explicitly wouldn't go out with someone based on something like this would be if they were in an obviously financially exploitative religious community like Scientology, or if it was somewhere that would require me to convert (and practice) to marry them and it was not a religion that I felt I could do that sort of thing.

I don't really have the right to be that picky, they and important family members of theirs just have to accept that I'm an atheist and I would be able to deal with it.

Basically my #1 dealbreaker is someone religious. I can't deal with that on an intimate level and I would feel like I had to walk on eggshells because I have some pretty hardcore anti-theist views. No problem with friends (somehow most of my friends are fairly religious) or family members. But in a relationship I really need them to agree with me on that. Luckily for me being gay drastically lowers the number of people who are religious/go to religious services.
