I wonder if the Justice Department will bring charges on  Darren Wilson.  I really doubt it.  I am sure the same set of facts the grand jury had access to which led to this decision should also dissuade the Justice Department from acting.

I really doubt it. I can't think of any case where an unjustified police shooting brought federal charges - I know the Rodney King and Abner Louima cases had federal charges, but in both cases that was a question of torture or prolonged beating.

The next avenue is likely civil charges, and I imagine there'll be a very sympathetic jury in St. Louis.

Where is the evidence he was murdered?  I've never have seen anything that would lead one to that conclusion. Physical evidence has no shots in the back.  Accounts and videos from just after the shooting were wildly contradictory.

It took me this long to realize this was a grand jury shooting down even the possibility of indictment. I am very, very confused - is shooting anyone thirteen times not even worth a trial?

Looking closely shows how farcical this process has been. Whatever happens next will only be too predictable.

It's basically impossible for a competent prosecutor to fail to get a grand jury indictment. Unless of course he's not trying to.

It's basically impossible for a competent prosecutor to fail to get a grand jury indictment. Unless of course he's not trying to.

Failing to get a grand jury indictment is not uncommon in cases concerning police officer shootings.

Edit: By the way, I understand the people of Ferguson 100%, and the police response has been awful, but if the people of Sanford remained calm after the Zimmerman killing than I see no reason why Ferguson should go up in flames.
