I think there's merit to the argument that conservative comedy is way way harder, and conservative political satire specifically is sort of an oxymoron. Satire is about poking fun at an establishment or dogma, and conservatism (taken at face value) is about the preservation of establishment and tradition, so conservative comedy often comes off as really ignorant or meanspirited. Anyone remember that horrific Daily Show ripoff Fox News tried out several years back?

Even so, I think there's still plenty of opportunities to make fun of left-wing groups and causes, and don't really care for the sort of echo chamber "this has to be all liberal, all the time!" creates. Social media has done plenty of that already.

Here's a great example of the really s**ty, ignorant types of skits that 1/2 Hour News Hour tried out as why a lot of right-wing comedy ends up just being super cringeworthy.
