Which Senators do you think will retire in 2016? I posted their ages in 2016 in the poll options. I didn't include everybody, I excluded most of the younger ones. But I included Paul and Rubio in case they retire to run for President. I know some have already announced, but some may also change their minds.

I voted Shelby, Boxer, and Mikulski, but I hope that the following will retire: Shelby, McCain, Boxer, Isakson, Coats, Grassley, Mikulski, Reid, Schumer, and Leahy

Paul obviously will retire for the Presidency.

I think Mikulski, Leahy, Shelby and Boxer may go. Reid and McCain would have to be shoved.

As far as I know, Reid said he won't retire. However, I think his chances of winning are low, even in a Democratic friendly year. Probably Governor Sandoval will unseat him.

Mikulski, Shelby, and Boxer for sure. I could see Boozman and Leahy going too, although I could see them running again.

I have a hard time seeing Shelby retire when he has $17 million CoH.

Boxer definitely, Coats, Paul and Rubio maybe. Everyone else is either running or likely to run.

Boxer, Paul, Mikulski, Reid, and I think that's it. There'll be fewer this year than over the past several cycles.

Of this list?  Burr, Isakson and Paul, but Lee will also retire.  McCain, Reid and possibly Murkowski will all run again but will have uphill battles to reelection.

Isakson has already said he's running for re-election.

So did Max Baucus, Tom Harkin, and Tim Johnson at some point in 2012.

Chuck Grassley has been a doddering, confused old coot for the better part of a decade or so. Needs to go.

Democrats ought to pressure Barbara Mikulski to retire because if she doesn't in 2016 and were to do so in 2022, they'd have to defend an open seat in an off-year election. They can't seem to count on Maryland with non-presidential turnout.

Rand Paul is going to have to choose between the Senate and the White House. He might as well pull the trigger and go big in 2016. Kentucky certainly has nothing to gain from him gaining any more seniority since his very ideology precludes him from using his seniority to get things for his state.

Would Mikulski be willing to retire with the Dems poised to retake the Senate in 2016 and Mikulski regain the gavel in the appropriations committee?  That's just too lucrative of a position if you ask me.

Mikulski hopefully retires and Van Hollen steps in and runs, Dan Coats and I can see Rand Paul leaving in order to fulfill a prez promise, and those are pretty safe for either party. I don't see any senator leaving to give an opportunity for either party to take advantage.

The Republicans have no bench in Maryland to win a US Senate Race though. Mikulski won in the 2010 Tea Party Wave as well with 62% of vote.

Why is everyone so certain that Boxer will retire?  I think she'd wait for Feinstein to go in 2018 so that way she gets to enjoy a few years of being the Golden State's senior senator.
