WaPo uses the Freedom of Information Act to get correspondence related to a paid speaking event that Clinton did at UCLA, deemed representative of the gigs she's done at other universities.  She was paid $300,000 for this particular appearance at UCLA:

It must be a slow news week in the Hillary-obsessed MSM.

Her desire for lemon water is very obvious proof of just how unfit she is for the presidency. Duh.

"HILLARY DRINKS LEMON WATER AND SCANS DOCUMENTS -- UNFIT FOR PRESIDENCY"

is what I'm hearing from this article.

I love the pure lack of substance of this article. Why do the arrangements of a speaking engagement matter? Is she an unfit candidate because the university paid her a lot of money to speak, or should she have been selfless and done it for free? I agree that this must have been a slow news day.

I'd also like to mention that $300,000 sounds like an awful lot; I'm sure that money could have found much better uses.

The newest "Water"gate has almost certainly been uncovered by the hard-hitting investigative journalism of the WaPo.

I don't see anything particularly unreasonable about any of her requests. It's not like she's demanding a windowless room with red furniture and vases of calla lilies arranged according to Feng Shui principles and that her water be taken from a Nepalese mountain spring and blessed by monks.

How dare she drink water! Real Americans don't drink water! They drink Classic Coca-Cola out of a 72-ounce gas station cup like Sarah Palin!

I think if most people were in her position, they would demand a lot more.

How is this news? I mean what she's asking for is so basic.

That speaking fee is outrageous. I can't believe universities throw money down the toilet inviting hack politicians to speak at functions when they could reduce tuition rates or hire more tenured professors rather than relying on adjunct profs.

True, but beside the point. Universities do regularly six figures on prestigious speakers. While I'm deeply skeptical of Senator Clinton as a national leader, criticizing her for her speaking fee is somewhere between silly and disingenuous.

I'm not against paying a small speaking fee, but I can't imagine going over $10,000 tops for a former President or Secretary of State.

I totally agree.  Whatever these students gained from watching this speech, they could have got 99% of it from watching another Hillary Clinton speech on youtube.  $300,000 in scholarship money could have changed lives for middle class UCLA students or gone to hire another professor or two.  That's 100% on UCLA though.

With regard to Hillary Clinton, this is all blatant player hating.
