Oh crap, sorry about that.

I completely misread that, that vote is suspended and I'll open a vote on the hostile one:

Like most of this Bill, a knowledge of English, in a predominately English-speaking country is not something you should or need to require by law.

This doesn't do that, it merely states an aspirational goal motivated by a desire to avoid future tensions between various groups within a diverse Atlasia, by encouraging inter-communication.

That's exceedingly fluffy to be put in legislation...

Now thats a word I haven't seen used around these parts in quite a few years lol.

Would you like it better if it were cut off after "encouraged".

This has enough votes to pass, senators have 24 hours to change their votes.

Simply, there isn't a single way to know if the person is indeed homosexual or not. This isn't like race where we can identifythat by the colour of their skin, sexual identity is much more difficult to identify. Someone could claim he's gay in order to get a federal hiring for example.
And there are people as well who have a lot of difficulter to determine if they're gay, straight or bi.
That's why I believe this clause should be repealed.

I object on the grounds that we should actively combat homophobia, cissexism, and heteronormativity.

This clause doesnt fight homophobia, it encourages fraud however.

Just a note: I doubt the ability of Atlasia to honor all treaty obligations with Native Atlasians. For example, the 1785 treaty with the Wyandot would give them half of Cleveland. The vast majority of Clevelanders are not of Native Atlasian ancestry and it seems bizarre to place them under tribal sovereignty. What is the reasoning behind this clause?

It is good to see you have great motives with this, Senator, but frankly, the section in question is simply not enforceable. It just isn't, one cannot tell that one is in fact LGBTQ.
