If When Mary Landrieu gets crushed on Saturday, does she have any political future? Maybe a candidate for Governor in 2015?

Most likely. She's done a lot to get that sort of job.

I certainly doubt she'll have any future in elected office. It's Louisiana and she's already been the last prominent Democrat on state level.

She'll try yo run for Governor in 2015 or Senate in 2016. I could see her in a Democratic presidential cabinet.

Secretary of Energy for the next Democratic presidential administration, or maybe even a Republican one

The environmentalists would scream bloody murder if Landrieu would ever be nominated for Sec of Energy by the Dems.

Couldn't see the GOP giving it to her ether since I've heard Landrieu is very difficult to work with and isn't a team player.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Can't believe I actually agree with him.  She will be to the oil and natural gas industry what Billy Tauzin (fellow Louisianan and former Democrat) is to the pharmaceutical industry.

Mayor of New Orleans is the only position of reasonable prestige and power she could win at this point.

She'll turn to lobbying though.

Except her brother Mitch already holds that post, and is likely to win a second term next year.  And he would be a prime gubernatorial candidate in 2019.  Or he could try to take back his sister's Senate seat in 2020.

Wasn't he already re-elected this year?
And I'm pretty sure he's going to run for governor.

Call me crazy (in case you haven't done yet), but I think Mary Landrieu should run for U.S. Senate in 2016 again.
That year will be a Hillary tsunami year. Even if she doesn't win one single Southern State, down-ballot candidates will profit by her candidacy.
Her brother Mitch should run for Governor, and their cousin Gary should become Mayor of New Orleans.

I'm sure the oil and gas industry has a nice plump lobbying job lined up for her.

She will do fine.  Corrupt politicians always find a way to make money.

Depends on how badly she loses.

If she keeps it mid-40s, she's a plausible candidate for Governor or for the other senate seat in what may be a better environment.

She may have burned bridges with her fellow Democrats, which reduces her effectiveness as a lobbyist or cabinet member.
