Presumably based on the fact that Wallace did win Michigan and Indiana in the primary. Ironically, though, this is because the "Southerners" in those states were still mainly conservative Democrats, the Midwestern types leaned Republican. Blacks will not vote for Wallace.

I agree with thefactor, except Mass and DC will go for Nixon, becasue of voter apathy.
