Does anyone know why they chose yellow and white as the basic colours for the Nunavut flag? It looks odd. If the colours had been blue and white for sea and ice with a yellow star on the blue this would have been a really nice flag, now its just so-so.

It almost breaks the sensible heraldic rule that metals (gold=yellow and silver=white) should not touch each other. Even if there is red in between, yellow and white in such a dominant way is not good. Though it's obviously much better than this ugly rag Wink

Round 4:
Group A -
Yukon - 7
Nunavut - 1

Group B -
Northwest Territories - 8

Eliminated
Yukon

Northwest Territories

Round 5
In this round one flag will be eliminated. Here you have two votes, you can distribute your vote in a 1-1 fashion or a 2-0 fashion OR if you want to save a provincial flag in a -1,-1, 0, -2 or even a 1, -1 fashion. You can't vote for more than two flags, including negative votes of flags you wish to save.
(Oh, and sorry for not updating the thread for Round 4. Oopps..)

I think Nunavut is the worst because of its colour combination, which is quite ugly and ruins an otherwise all right design. New Brunswick is a bit cluttered, to say the least, but more pleasing to the eye (red and yellow may be my favourite heraldic combo). Quebec has too wide a cross, but is otherwise great. Nova Scotia would have been great without the shield, but is still refreshingly simple and its reversion of the Scottish colours is fine symbolism. I will wait to see if its going to be necessary to defend New Brunswick.
