Asking whether to live in texas or california is like asking to be employed or unemployed, California's economy is a wreck and bakersfield isnt immune to a bad statewide job market. Plus too much gun grabbing in california. High gasoline taxes and crap and trade regulations in cali will screw over anybody in any bracket of income. So definitely Austin.
