Get ready for four years of gridlock, Alaska.  You tossed out the decent, bipartisan Republican for an extreme, hackish "Independent."  You've made your bed, now lie in it.

What kind of hack do you think Bill Walker is, exactly? Please, elaborate.
Parnell was know for his ability to work with Democrats, something which upset the Tea Partiers.  He was Palin's lieutenant governor, and she still endorsed Walker over him.  Walker is nothing but a hyperpartisan, Tea Party Republican hack.

Why did the state Democrats support him then?
Because he was running against a Republican, duh.

Do you ever think before you post?

What happened to your declaration that you weren't going to post anything outside map creation?

He is not as far off base, or at least would not be a fear years ago to say you had to bipartisan alliances competing for power defined by their willingness or lack thereof to be a shill for big oil.

The Alaska Tea Party and the Tea Party in general was defined by opposition to corporate welfare and that includes the corrupt relationship between the Alaska GOP and big business. Sarah Palin has been one of the few tea party figures to preserve such rhetoric (along with Rand Paul).

A Tea Party (as understood nationwide) + Democrat alliance sounds nuts. An Alaska Tea Party + Democrat alliance is not so easily dismissed precisely because of the history of Palin and her actions regarding oil companies and such forth.

I decided that I was going to post my thoughts and leave them, without regard for what the loops on here think.

So the incumbent Democrat and the incumbent Republican both lost at the same time. I feel like that must be incredibly rare, right?

I found Minnesota 1990. It was actually the only Senate seat to change parties that year.

Good research!
