Hello everyone, so I have this idea on how America would look with the same political parties in Greece?. I saw some other users post topics on America with political parties from other countries, so I decided why not make a greek version since I have yet to see a Greek version of American political parties.

Of course, this timeline would have some differences in order to comply with Greek parties (and Greeces political landscape). The Soviet Union would still be around (I think this would make the timeline much more interesting and allow for a rise in Communist parties like in Greece), and America would be farther to the left/be much more nationalistic.

Here would be the list of parties.

Republican Party=Americas main Center Right party (New Democracy). This party tends to be fiscally conservative yet socially moderate (along with being strongly hawkish/anti soviet on foreign affairs). Has several different factions with differ on social issues and immigration/trade.

Socialist Labor Party (Panhellenic Socialist Movement)=Americas main center-left party encompassing a wide variety of ideologies (leftist social democrats, nationalists who oppose free trade and immigration, third way supporters, and populists). Although the party claims to be socialist, many on the hard left simply see it as "Socialist in name only" as they tend to move to the center well in government.

Christian Alliance (American version of Popular Orthodox Rally)=A much more Conservative version of the Republicans. Represents the social, national, economic, and political Right.

Communist Party=A Far-Left Marxist party which advocates radical Socialist economics and supports the Soviet Union (a combination of SYRIZA and the KKE). Critize the SLP as a "Socialist in name only" and as being a "tool of capitalism".

Independent Americans (Independent Greeks)=A Nationalist party, which takes socially conservative, protectionist, anti-immigration, and heavily nationalist views. Their position on the spectrum is hard to place, as they seem to appeal mainly to disenfranchised populist voters.

American Nationalist Dawn (Golden Dawn)=A Far-Right Ultra-nationalist neo nazi party. This party is ultra-racist and advocates white supremacy. They are strongly anti communist and socially conservative and are a vehicle for racists. The party, despite being far-right has adopted many populist economic views (such as calling itself "the SLP party your parents voted for" and supporting re-nationalization of many industries, opposing cuts to Americas single payer healthcare system, and opposing globalization. Because of this and the parties radical anti-immigrant views, it has been able to steal many working class votes from the SLP and also right-wing voters.

Libertarians=A party which advocates libertarianism, and along with Communist Party is the only party which advocates non-interventionism (although they are anti communist). Ron Paul and so fourth would lead the party.

What do ya'll think?. Should I continue, do you have any suggestions, and whats your thoughts on this?.

Perhaps just White Dawn would suffice.

Just a few comments:  A more accurate translation of LAOS would be Populist Orthodox Rally or People's Orthodox Rally.  A similar party in the U.S. could be named the Christian People's Party.

The Independent Greeks aren't really socially conservative or anti-immigration.  They're rather moderate and probably to the left of ND on most social issues.

I don't think Greece currently has a Libertarian (or European Liberal) party in the parliament.  Former PM Mitsotakis was a European Liberal and I suppose the Mitsotakis faction in ND could be described as the liberal faction, but ND is quite a conservative party overall.

SYRIZA never supported the Soviet Union.  The predecessor of Synaspismos, KKE Interior were eurocommunists and was founded in the '80s if I am not mistaken by KKE members who didn't want to have anything to do with the USSR.  SYRIZA itself was created after Synaspismos and several other small parties and political organizations united at the Genoa anti-WTO protests.

It doesn't make sense to combine KKE and Syriza since they are very different parties with appeal to different segments and types. KKE is basically a sect by this point and since you can not make an American KKE get any traction, I suggest you just go with a US Syriza - an alternative would be to create a similar weird anachronistic political sect that some families belong to for historical reasons - maybe a continuation of Father Coughlin's National Union for Social Justice? (he was sufficiently anti-capitalist for it to make some sense).

Introducing a Libertarian party is "cheating", since the Greeks do not have one,

SYRIZA could be the Occupy Wall Street Party (OWSP). Their beginnings are a similar story and such a party could have had some success under proportional representation.
