Which states can (not necessarily will) Hillary improve on Obama's 2012 performance by 3% or more?

Maybe this? A lot of these were very tough choices. "Can" is very broad though.

I could see her doing better in Southern states and Utah (although that's largely because Republicans are less likely to nominate a mormon.)

In a great year, she might do better in North Carolina, aided more by demographic trends than anything else. A four point win in Florida is also plausible, given how many former New Yorkers live there. A seven point win in Virginia is also possible.

Theoretically, she could improve everywhere except D.C. by 3% or more.

Without knowing the republican candidate, any state is possible in theory, even HI.

^Over his 2012 performance? Certainly. With someone like Cruz that would be possible.

This is why these threads are kind of silly. "What states could Hillary win?" "Well, in theory, all of them".

IceSpear's list minus Nevada, New Mexico, Maine, and New Hampshire plus New York and maybe Massachusetts and Rhode Island if the Republicans screw up badly.
