Looks like Kennedy has won Caddo by a margin of 57 votes.

In the end, the margin won't be that different from the presidential race result, so no GA 2008 redux. Democrats have a rock solid floor in LA.

R+1!

I am not at all tired of all this winning, winning, winning. It's over for the Democrat party.

100% in:

Kennedy (R) - 536,204 - 61%
Campbell (D) - 347,813 - 39%

The first time in history that a Republican breaks 60% in a Senate race in LA, right?

So looking back to the jungle:

Vote by Party:

Republican: 61.06%
Democrat: 34.97%
"Others": 1.90%
Independent: 1.49%
Libertarian: 0.59%

Kennedy got 60.66% tonight. So he kept basically all of the republican vote, and the third party vote went over to Campbell.

Well, here we go!

Republicans: Congratulations! You ran the table this past cycle.

Democrats: Congratulations! Things can pretty much only get better.

Despite signals to the contrary over the past years, it appears Burr is gearing up to run again.

LA will be really linked with the Governor's much. At the moment, its more likely than not that the Republican running in 2016 won't be Vitter.

In the end, things didn't get any better for Democrats (we can't include the governors on this thread)

What was the reason for combining LA and NC in the first place?

Its started out as a personal thing for me. When I started doing this in 2014, I was ping-ponging back between the two states and wanted to put things in one thread.

R.I.P. Angelle's career - Higgins whuped him by 12 points. The last minute child support scandal I think made Angelle look petty and sad.

I kind of like Higgins, but only if he goes through with his campaign push to reform the prison system.

It started in 2014? For some reason I thought you were doing these for more cycles than that.

Attacking Kennedy on abortion rights didn't deliver for Campbell.

Ah, right

I did do one for 2012, but started it kinda late into the cycle.

Yeah, because Kennedy was the pro-life candidate in this race, not Campbell.

Campbell was mostly too. As almost all Louisiana politicians are (even Blacks)

^ Exactly. When i looked at scorecards of Louisiana's  "right to life" even i was mildly surprised to see 90% of Democratic caucus being pro-life. I know no other state where such situation exist..

Louisiana honestly seems like an amazing state politically (Note: different from saying good politicians...which is not true). #ProLife

The only modern-day LA politician beyond a few "some dudes" in the state legislature that isn't pro-life is Mary Landrieu, but even she was to the right of the Washington establishment on the issue.

The TN Right to Life also has very favorable ratings for most Democratic state legislators (the few that still exist that is- since the State Senate is 28-5 and the House 74-25).
