Well, I guess he wouldn't be terrible. But not a first tier candidate.
Lean rep with him.

He'd definitely a first-tier candidate, as anyone can tell by looking at how strongly he performed in all three of his house races. Obviously it's still Lean/Likely R if he gets in, but he's definitely the best candidate Democrats could have gotten here short of Cooper. He's probably on par with Cowell or better.

I wouldnt take NC for granted. The tar heel state almost reelected Kagen; as it was the closest race in nation

He's definitely first tier. From what I've seen he's always performed the best or near the top in head to heads with Burr according to PPP.

Not true. I am pretty sure he would run ahead of Hillary (who will almost certainly lose the state).

To be honest, Mike McIntyre would have had problems with the base because he's really conservative. Shuler is clearly a conservadem , but not so much.

Hilary isnt guarenteed to lose NC; especially if Trump is the GOP nominee. Regardless, Roy Cooper will propel Schuler to victory.

Shuler was the leader of the Blue Dog caucus and voted against Nancy Pelosi for Speaker. Can't imagine there is a marginal difference between him and McIntyre.

There are:
-Mcintyre did have a more anti gay record: Shuler voted to repeal DADT, McIntyre didn't
-On health care: McIntyre voted to repeal Obamacare, Shule voted against to repeal
-Shuler was as well pro environment

NC-Sen: Former St. Rep. Deborah Ross will run. Maybe Spring Lake Mayor Chris Rey. Shuler says his focus is on his Duke Energy job.

Biggest overhipe of a candidate since Schweizer dissed the Dems in 2014 Mnt Sen race.

Dems will now move resources to MO; where Kander is coming out strong against Blunt.
