Conservative Protestant, I go to a Southern Baptist church down here, but I don't consider myself a Southern Baptist.

Roman Catholic though I'm looking into Old Catholic at the moment due to their inclusiveness despite disagreeing with much more doctrine.

isolated/esoteric Christian.  believing but not practicing, practicing but not believing.  not a strong theist, on the outskirts of the church.  the story of Creation, Fall, and Redemption is the greatest story ever told.

I'm a member of the Catholic church, but in practice I'm basically an agnostic.

As I've said in the numerous times this has been asked... I'm a rock-solid agnostic. I just don't care enough to be an atheist.

Nah, I was in a grape juice denomination through undergrad, but since I've moved out eat I now go to a place that's all the Catholic with half the guilt and all the lesbian rectors and beer in the church fridge.

Roman Catholic

It doesn't apply to me, but question leaves a potential hole for any Eastern Rite Catholics by unnecessarily specifying Roman.

That's a rather silly way to divide up the Protestants.

I wasn't going to list every denomination.  I could have divided Protestants as "mainline vs. non-mainline" but that doesn't completely correlate with liberal or conservative theology.

I thought "liberal vs. conservative" was the best way to divide Protestants based on theology, and denominational labels are less important.  The conservative Presbyterian Church in America has more in common with the similarly conservative Lutheran Church Missouri Synod than it does with the fairly liberal Presbyterian Church USA.

What does "Liberal/moderate/conservative" Christian even mean?

The voters in the poll can decide, but I was thinking that the most liberal Protestants who could be called "Protestant" would still believe in the divinity and other basics of Jesus, yet be liberal or openminded on most other things, and would not view the entire Bible as the literal truth.  The Episcopal Church and United Church of Christ are good examples.  At the other end of the spectrum, members of Independent Baptist Churches or Assemblies of God are likely very conservative Protestants.

Roman Catholic

Yes, I realize I left out Eastern Catholics and Oriental Orthodox.  Sorry.  I knew I'd end up forgetting to include some groups, but that's why the "other" options are there.

I could figure that out Tongue But what is "moderate"? Where do Presbyterians fall?

Not only that, but you placed Unitarian among the Christian choices.  While Unitarianism started out Christian, and there may be a few old school Unitarian churches out there, especially in New England, modern Unitarian Universalism is a religion without any specified view of the Divine.  There are also some other non-Trinitarian Christian groups.

You can decide, and not everyone in a denomination is necessarily the same.  I don't know what you believe, but if identify as "Presbyterian/Hindu" you're probably quite liberal for a Protestant.

Anyway, for the poll, people can identify as whatever they want.  I don't entirely understand why a nonreligious person would refer to himself as "Catholic", but if you call yourself "Catholic", then you can vote that way in the poll.

Atheist/Agnostic.

I wasn't raised in a religious household, but both of my parents were raised as mainline Protestants (father Presbyterian and mother Methodist), and I think their backgrounds still have a strong influence on my thinking and values, so I'd go so far as to call myself a "cultural mainline Protestant".

Despite being non-religious myself, I do think organized religion is a good thing on balance (as long as its doctrines are not too rigid), because it helps people to form a community based on shared values and traditions (and I think that tradition is generally a good thing except when it actively harms someone, but I don't want to get into that debate at the moment).

Voting atheist, as I do take an interest in whether or not god(s) exist, and I tend to assume that such things do not exist in the absence of evidence I find compelling.
