I've enjoyed every visit, though I'm not stupid enough to visit it in the windy winter.  Smiley

Fantastic!  And I was there during the cold months of December-March, no less.  The architecture, the people, the culture.  I really was quite enamored with the entirety of Chicagoland.  I can not wait to make a return visit.  Wonderful memories.

Freedom City

Went there once for Thanksgiving. Perfect weather to do stuff since it wasn't all that crowded (I like cold weather), great food and architecture.

With its inferior food, weather, and beaches? Sureeee buddy. I'd argue better culture here as well, but don't have the patience to bat against the "LOL ITS SO DOUCHEY" caricature many members here have adopted.

I'm sure LA has better Mexican and maybe Persian food, but Chicago's pizza and hot dogs and beer (does LA have a lot of microbrews? No idea) are going to be better than LA's. Chicago's North Avenue Beach is a great time, but SoCal is inherently more suitable in that department. Chicago is obviously a lot more walkable and liveable than LA; you'd be fine living in Chicago without a car. And Chicago's music scene (or at least the 200 mile radius surrounding Chicago) indisputably trumps LA.

Cool city, but too cold for me probably (not sure who thought settling right next to a frozen lake was a good idea??).

A very big, diverse place. Like most cities, some parts are much nicer than others. The sprawl there is completely unmanageable though. It's almost incomprehensible.

One of my favorite cities in the whole world.  The crown jewel of the Midwest, along with Detroit.

Detroit IS NOT the Crown Jewel of the Midwest.  PERIOD.

As for Chicago, Freedom City.

Lived in the Chicago area for four years.  When I wasn't working my tail off, which was most of the time, I enjoyed it a lot--great city.
