Nevada:

John Kerry (2004): 397,190 (50.7%)
Brian Sandoval (2014): 386,340 (49.3%)

(consider its population growth in those ten years!)

Vermont:

1928 Presidential Election in New York:

Hoover: 2,193,344 (49.8%)
Smith: 2,089,863 (47.4%)

2014 New York Governor:

Cuomo: 2,069,480 (54.2%)
Astorino: 1,536,879 (40.2%)

New York had a population of about 12 million at the time. It has more than 19 million now.
