http://politicalwire.com/2014/12/12/stutzman-says-he-was-hoodwinked-by-gop-leaders/

After the ‘cromnibus‘ funding bill passed, Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) “made the rather shocking claim that GOP leadership convinced him to vote for the rule allowing the bill to get to the floor by telling him they were pulling the bill anyway,” Roll Call reports.

Said Stutzman: “Earlier today, I supported the Rule because I was informed by Leadership that the CROmnibus was dead and a short term CR would take its place. I was very surprised and even more disappointed to see the CROmnibus back on the floor. The American people deserve better.”

What he means:
"Don't blame this on me, folks. I'm so dumb, I don't know what the hell is going on in that chamber 99 percent of the time. I'm as aware of my own party caucus's legislative agenda as the third graders in the gallery on their class field trip are."

This sums Stutzman up all too well. He's not one of the chamber's brighter bulbs.

The Force can have a strong influence on the weak-minded.

It's sounds like Boehner could have done this to Stutzman not only if he were a Jedi, but if the Speaker were Jar Jar Binks.

He should hire you to make adds for his challengers.

Unfortunately for those who expect him to become vulnerable in 2016 his district (IN-3) is R+13.

That actually makes him vulnerable... in a primary.

Stutzman made a blunder in his vote. People do stupid stuff all the time though. We all have our moments what we were thinking when how did we do this? Stuff happens.

Yeah, I don't read this story and think Boehner is some sort of master manipulator. I read this and think Stutzman's kinda dumb and trying to blame his mistake on someone else.

"ProgressiveRealist", you do realize that blaming everything on Wall Street is populist as well?

Does anyone need to be bright to be a right-wing political stooge? Just ask a handler how to vote when at all in doubt, and avoid making statements that might show how intellectually hollow one is. Then keep getting re-elected with the aid of Koch front groups.

Does anyone need to be bright to get elected to Congress, period? Pander to the lowest common denominator in a low-turnout primary, get rubber stamped in the general election in your gerrymandered district and you're golden.

This isn't the first time Stutzman has said something incredibly inane.

That is about the government shutdown last year, of course.

I'd love to see him try to rob a bank...

"Everybody on the ground. No one leaves until my demands are met!"

"Okay, okay, just tell us what you want."

*pause*

"I'm...I'm not...okay, look, I'm gonna think about that for a few minutes and then I'll get back to you. But for now, nobody is going anywhere!"
