When politicians don't do anything controversial, generally they are rewarded for that behavior (See: John Thune, and countless others).

What Maxwell said.

What tends to happen, though, is that these non-controversial, unambitious Senators are then floated for the Presidency or VP slot; which if they were to actually run for, they'd end up last.

She does her job, no drama. Works across the aisle to get little feel good things done.

Minnesotans are very, very happy to reward someone who oozes Minnesota Nice.

She's Sarah Palin if Sarah Palin was liberal and not a chronic attention-seeker.

Basically, she works across the aisle every so often, doesn't say anything controversial, and won by a huge landslide in her 2006 race, which was originally seen as a potential republican pickup opportunity.

How so?  Amy Klobuchar was a successful attorney who attended Yale and the University of Chicago.  Sarah Palin is just a dummy from Alaska.

I meant she's got the same kinda folksy attitude and friendliness about her.

I don't really get folksy from Amy Klobuchar.  She's more buttoned-up, but outgoing.  She reminds me of a business executive, outgoing and focused.
