The problem no doubt is that they've gotten so use to breaking the law to attract attention to preserve things, they've forgotten their supposed purpose is to preserve things and that attracting attention and breaking the law are only supposed to be tools to achieve that end.

Greenpeace sinks to the level of PeTA with this preposterous stunt.  Care more about theater than conserving the environment.

A truly misguided, fanatical quasi religious organization at this point.

not to ruin the Greenpeace hate-train but I think the Peruvian bureaucrat might be overreacting a little bit

I beg to differ, here is an "after" shot:

Sure, they didn't step on it but considering the lines are little more than moved sand in an environment where it rains less than 1 cm a year- and even that has caused damage- and where you must wear special shoes to prevent damage, it was cavalier, reckless, and absolutely disrespectful to the Peruvians, to the memory of the peoples who made them, and to anyone with an interest in seeing them preserved (which ought to be all of mankind).

The future may be renewable, as they said, but the past certainly is not.

PLUS the leader of [one of] the key organisation(s) for the preservation of the lines characterised the lines as "irreparable".

Yeah i think baconking should edit his post to reflect the damage they did.  Greenpeace should be bankrolling any restoration efforts.

I concede the point that I was misinformed but idk why I should edit my post to include information that's in the next post

And a shrinking population is good for an economy. I used to think you were a rather well-informed person but apparently not.
