Absolutely negative, but it depends what "do something about it" implies.

If "do something about it" means just "stepping up the game" in a non-violent way to still somehow get the liking of that person, it's definitely not "rape".

That's like applying the death penalty for offenses like blasphemy.

Well yeah, I mean more the disgust at whoever said it as it's a fictional character. I guess you could argue Solondz is the true author but he clearly doesn't agree with it as anyone whose seen his films can attest. They're supposed to show ordinary people as terrible.

     Alternatively, rape can occur as an expression of power over the victim. I somehow doubt that love enters into, say, prison rape.
