Moderate Hero and a likely sociopath, so HP. Still better than Coakley though.

High hopes, and from all the videos i've seen of this guy he's defintely someone who you'd have a beer with.

Also he's needed as a watch on the state legislative democrats of which a portion are radical leftists who demand higher spending and higher minimum wages just because their shielded by relying only in the cities for votes.

Republican = HP

Likely the next Mitt Romney.
Even in the incredibly unlikely event that Baker runs for president in 2020, the party would never nominate him. He supports Complete Abortion on Demand, opposes priortizing "human needs over animal rights",  and is "comfortable" with same sex marriage. http://ballotpedia.org/Charles_D._Baker#On_The_Issues_Vote_Match

The Democratic Party was staunchly against gay marriage in 2004 and by 2009, they were ardent supporters.  2014 to 2020 is an even bigger gap.  Republicans under 50 support gay marriage, and I wouldn't be surprised if by 2020 it certainly isn't a litmus test ... Agreed on the abortion part, though.

The implication is that he completely changes on that, like Mitt Romney did. I'm not sure that is the case, and I certainly hope Baker is smart enough to learn from that set of mistakes.

The difference is that Romney never supported same sex marriage - he was forced to allow it by the courts. Also, while Romney did not make any attempts to change abortion laws in Massachusetts, he never, unlike Baker, publicly supported abortion on a personal level.

Part of being the next Mitt Romney includes flip-flopping to some degree.

Okay, but you're refuting a point that the poster in question was not making.

He strikes me more as Weld-type Republican than Romney-type. I see nothing so far to justify an HP vote, so FF.

Massive FF for winning statewide in Massachusetts.

Democrats always supported gay marriage; they just weren't open about it until recently.

No matter how much I may dislike some of Baker's positions (and believe me, I do, if that info is accurate), then it doesn't really change my opinion of him.

Seriously Matt, why don't you just become and Independent?
