Go Walker! I can't believe that this has even been a question to many governors.

Isn't Walker a Sarah Palin endorsed Tea Partier?

Is this action a result of compromising from having the Dem candidate as Lieutenant Governor?

Sarah Palin endorsed him because of a more or less entirely local set of issues having to do with the relationship between the people and government of Alaska and the oil companies. These are some of the only issues on which Palin is actually right, for the most part. Walker's been pro-Medicaid expansion all along as far as I know.

Yeah I don't remember if it was a condition for the Democrat dropping out or if he supported it before, but Walker was pretty clear during the campaign that he supported medicaid expansion. Good to hear that he's keeping his promise though.

Walker is nothing but a hyperpartisan, Tea Party Republican hack.

That's what I thought when I saw this, too: "Oops, there goes his Palin support."

He had his stance on Medicaid expansion known before his Palin endorsement, so your train of thought is far off from any reality. Palin endorsed Walker because she hates Parnell with a passion.

Then why was he her lieutenant governor?

I think his having won a primary may have had something to do with it.

He repealed her oil tax.

Obligatory comment that Alaska has a unique political scene and doesn't lend itself to the same labels we like to apply to the mainland GOP. (In the same way that the Hawaii Democrats are rather a different kettle of fish to mainland Democrats)

(and Walker = FF)

I knew I would regret not endorsing him.

Well its hard to follow the latest turns when you have no interent access for much of the past few months before the elections.

Excellent. I hope Medicaid expansion continues across all the remaining states. It is a no brainer supported by health care groups, hospitals, nursing homes and the chamber of commerce. The main reason to oppose it now is opposition to Obama. We would have had Medicaid expansion in Tennessee if it wasn't for the crazy legislature. Haslam supports expansion.
