What are the chances that someone inside Sony hacked themselves in order to gin up publicity for this?

Absolutely zero percent.

There's literally nothing in that article that leads me to believe that my claim is incorrect.

So you know with 100 percent certainty that it was North Korea?

No but there is nothing in that article to give any ounce of credibility that it was an inside job to drum up publicity, as you originally stated.
