What is your opinion of those scumbags who incorporate candles and...God forbid...RELIGION into a religious liturgical feast?!?
How DARE they shove it down our throats. It's boring and I don't like it. Bring me my presents.

You have a much more varied taste for what gets shoved down your throat I see. Good for you. I hope one of your presents gives you hours of practice.

This is truly one of the most flawed comparisons to a poll someone disagrees with. You celebrate Hanukkah's eight days and nights by lighting candles, and Christmas is a celebration of Christ's birth, not his death.

For some people to suggest that the cross, as the universal symbol of the Church, should not be seen in a Christian liturgical feast is absolutely bizarre and only serves to cause controversy.
Lack of Jewish symbols, not only Hannukah candles, but also the Star of David, for example, at a Jewish liturgical feast would be similarly strange.

In fairness, the crucifix thread was bizarre and ignorant. (I had presumed that it was a joke.) Most branches of Christianity are so steeped in crucifixion imagery that it would be more unusual if that symbol were not present for any given occasion.

This is truly one of the most flawed comparisons to a poll someone disagrees with. You celebrate Hanukkah's eight days and nights by lighting candles, and Christmas is a celebration of Christ's birth, not his death.

Because one has nothing to do with other? Huh

My point was: his reaction to the poll was certainly not close to a fair comparison, the biggest reason is that Christmas is celebrating Jesus's birth, not his death (or at least that's how I interpret it).

Is the point of thread that Jews are privileged beyond Christians in today's world? That would be a very problematic position, but I can't see any other purpose , epecially considering how bad the analogy is.

I don't care about any religion. I am concerned about ethnic tensions. Perhaps it's too subtle a distinction for some people, but it is an important one.
