I see from another source - 64 pardons in 6 years. Absolutely shameful. That number should be multiplied by at least 100 if not 1000. This "larger push" better pick up very quickly if he wants to salvage his legacy at all.

Also, obligatory #FreeDonSiegelman even though things do seem to progressing over there. That's like my number 1 issue that I care out.

This is a sign of an impending small step in the right direction. While about 95% of prisoners are eventually released, our prison system does not do a very good job of rehabilitating the people in its care. In prison, the familial and other social ties that bind the convict to his or her larger society attenuate, while the convict's chances of obtaining employment upon release are devastated. The longer the sentence, the worse the impact. I read that partially as a result, about 40% of released prisoners are re-arrested. Unless we are going to make all crimes life sentences, the criminal justice system needs to be designed with the end (release) in mind, and we need to work better to ensure that we are releasing people who can be reintegrated safely into society.

The House would probably manage to impeach him before he left office, just because.

it would still 'count' though, right?  is there any known way to cancel or rescind a pardon?

Being impeached doesn't really do anything with a 2/3rds vote of the Senate, which obviously wouldn't happen in that day.

I agree, but since there's only 200,000, such a large number might be a bit overboard. That's why I suggested 60,000 which is probably a bit on the low side.

How many non-violent drug offenders are held on federal charges?

98,000 total for drug offenses. Hard to do an immediate breakdown for non-violent though I'd imagine a pretty good portion with our overbearing judicial structures.
