Avoiding the collapse of the Mideast Economy Amendment
1) Article VII, section 1 of the Mideast Constitution is hereby repealed.
2) Other sections are renumbered accordingly

This is a repeal of the balanced budget amendment.
I am introducing this because giving our government the flexibility to deal with economic change is imperative to our success as a region. This will not in itself lead to any spending increases or tax decreases, merely more opportunity to use such tools. As it currently stands, this section serves no other purpose but to arbitrarily restrict our options and will cause uncertainty in bad economic times.

Any further debate?

It was put in place to prevent deficit spending. Our economic footing benefits because the Mideast government lives below its means while still providing much needed services. The nation should emulate our economic footing. Not us theirs.

Hey New Candaland,

This bill needs to be introduced in the Mideast Assembly Thread:
https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=192855.0

Once you have done that, Speaker Spiral will open a thread for debate. Smiley

I'll echo my colleagues here. The procedure goes that the Speaker must open all threads for debate, so once you post it in the Assembly thread, we can get the ball rolling. Until then, I'll reserve my judgment on this piece of legislation.
