I don't think he actually enjoys Christmas at all. It sounds like he anticipates it for so long that when it comes, he's already over it.

Christmas for him builds to a plateau of Christmas nirvana and then it slips away the week before.  Oh well, there's always New Years.  You think he enjoys getting up at 315? Of course not. He has to do it.
