Assuming you are from Europe, or have ancestors who immigrated from Europe to the US/Canada etc.

For this purpose, post where your ancestors lived.

For outside the Roman Empire, name the tribe.

(right-click for huge version)

For me: Noricum, which was also the origin of the Hallstatt culture.

Who knows?  My four grandparents were born in four different countries.  Assuming no migration between AD130 and the time they were born circa AD1890, then only two would have been residents of the empire (one in the Balkans and one on the Italian peninsula).  The other two would have been one of the unconquered allemani molesting them from the northeast and one of the unconquered Caledonians pestering them from the northwest.

Given the migrations that occurred among the various tribes of White People between those years, such an assumption seems unlikely to be a valid one.

My ancestors came from what were the Roman provinces of Lusitania and Tarraconensis.

Born in the Narbonensis or Alpes (depending where the border is exactly), with parents from Italia. Currently living in Lugdunensis.

Mostly Heruli, though some Cimbrian (which is not on the map for some reason).

Britannia, most likely.

Or maybe some Saxon tribe or something. Who knows?

I currently live in what was Britannia (not far from the great city of Viroconium, as it happens). In terms of ancestry, I mostly haven't got a clue. Like most white trash my family's historical memory barely makes it to the end of the 18th century (and then only extremely patchily; even the early twentieth century is sketchy for some branches), so...

Germania Superior. At some point in Late Antiquity I would have been an Alemannus, though.

The genetics of my 'Y' chromosome seem to suggest we have hardly budged since the Ice Age. So Caledonia I suppose.

British isles, most likely. My ancestors are a hodgepodge of dirt poor Scots, Englishmen, Irish, and of course, a large amount of Native American.

1/32 perhaps?

If so, you might consider obtaining tribal medical insurance.

My maternal ancestors are Scots so they would be from Caledonii. My paternal ancestors are Hungarians and Anglo-Indians so I suppose they would be outside the Empire and in Britannia, respectfully.
