Rutgers-Eagleton primary poll of New Jersey:

http://eagletonpoll.rutgers.edu/rep-2016-presidential-dec2014/

Looks like this is an "open-ended" type poll question, where the respondent has to give the name himself/herself, rather than choose from a list.

Dems

Clinton 54%
Warren 6%
Booker 2%
Biden 1%
O'Malley 1%

Second choice of those who picked Clinton:

Warren 6%
Biden 6%
Booker 3%
Cuomo 2%
O'Malley 2%

GOP

Christie 32%
Romney 10%
Bush 6%
Paul 4%
Rubio 4%
Cruz 3%
Carson 2%
Jindal 2%
Giuliani 1%
Perry 1%
Paul 1%
Walker 1%

Second choice of those who picked Christie:

Bush 17%
Romney 11%
Rubio 2%
Cruz 2%
Paul 1%
Perry 1%
Carson 1%

Not a very impressive showing for Christie.

Hillary cracking a majority in an open ended support question clearly shows that voters are hungry for an alternative.

I can't imagine that Romney is likely to run in a field with Bush and Christie in it. If Christie is running and in the race by the time NJ votes, he easily cracks 50%.

But what would he possibly do around here if he stopped?

Maybe talk about how James Lankford and Chuck Schumer aren't inevitable, and accuse anyone who disagrees of being "Lankford/Schumer hacks". Tongue
