I don't know that Maryland would go to Nixon. Humphrey would take some of Wallace's support there also.

You may think I'm crazy, but I actually think Humphrey would have done better without Wallace in the race, especially in the South.  Wallace had a lot of blue-collar support that probably would have gone to Humphrey, and I doubt most white racists were that quick to vote Republican (unless it was one like Goldwater).
