New Orleans is 3 hours from Pensacola?
Yes. but Atlanta is about 5 hours and Miami is 10 hours from Pensacola.  It would make much more sense if the Florida panhandle were part of Alabama.

If you get zero traffic the entire way. And it's not on the gulf. And it isn't like a 3 hour trip is nearby anyway.

It is just pathetic that 56.5% of the site would choose a far-right lunatic for a political office over a conservadem because of "muh pandering" and "muh Oil".

... Palin isn't far-right. Americans know jack about the 'far-right'.
Conservative on more than 55% of issues=far right
I was parodying a Wulfric quote on the irc
Ah. Consider that un-deluged.

Actually, I never said that. I said that I agree with parts of both parties' agendas, and some other people tried to assign a 55%/45% balance (some gave the edge to the republicans, others to the democrats) to it. I never said such percentages were wrong, but I also never explicitly said they were accurate.

In Bushie's defense, in Oklahoma and New Mexico, 3 hours is a sensible distance between two cities.

Hoffa, to my limited knowledge, as a Teamster supported Republicans. I'll vote for the Michigan Republican & Neo-Liberal Italian over an ex-Democrat Southron and a woman.

http://spartacus-educational.com/USAhoffa.htm

I was more emphasizing how terrible "I'll vote for the Michigan Republican & Neo-Liberal Italian over an ex-Democrat Southron and a woman." is.
You clearly don't get Cathcon's sense of humor yet.

A post using "humor" can also be bad.

Yes it is. Humor can be good or bad. It is subjective which is which, but so is everything that is put in the Deluge. I would prefer Cathcon to leave (or stop using "humor"), you would prefer me to leave. Neither is gong to happen. So just use the ignore button.

A few changes.  I've removed a couple sitting Senators.  Though I've replaced one with another sitting senator, Dianne Feinstein, she's almost certain to retire from the senate in 2018 anyway. I've increased the number of women to 3, which is only one or two less than the likely actual number.  As I've said already I'm well aware only around half of the cabinet usually goes to elected politicians.

1.Treasury, Tom Carper, Delaware Senator and former Governor
2.Commerce, John Lynch, former New Hampshire Governor, former State Party Chair and Businessman
3.Labor, Deval Patrick, former Massachusetts Governor, former Assistant U.S A.G for civil rights
4.Interior, Mark Udall, former Colorado Senator, former Executive Director State Outward Bound
5.Agriculture, Brad Henry, former Oklahoma Governor
6.Energy, Angus King, Maine Senator, former Governor, fmr Pres. Northeastern Energy Management
7.Transportation, Martin O'Malley, former Maryland Governor
8.Housing and Urban Development, Julian Castro, present HUD Secretary
9.Education, Christine Gregoire, Former Washington Governor
10.Health and Human Services, Michelle Nunn, 2014 U.S Senate Candidate, 1,000 Points of Light
11.Veteran's Affairs, Claudia Kennedy, Retired Army General,
12.Defense, Wesley Clark, Retired Army General, 2004 Presidential Candidate
13.State, Joe Biden, U.S Vice President
14.Homeland Security, Dianne Feinstein, California Senator, Homeland Subcommittee Member
15.Attorney General, Ed Rendell, former Pennsylvania Governor, former Philadelphia District Attorney

Edited:
A few more changes.  I just realized I didn't have a single visible minority member of the cabinet.  Also removed the remaining vulnerable sitting senators.

A couple more visible minority members and a Republican or two and Hillary is all set!

No, this is merely something you disagree with. A Serbian Film is disgusting; the sight of an open wound in one's shoulder is disgusting; the sight of the bodies of Holocaust victims piled up is disgusting. This, on the other hand, is a piece of text on the internet that you disagree with. Control your hyperbole.

Really this is all a consequence of feminists being idiots and people who enjoy video games taking the first excuse to attack them for their idiocy, even if the initial excuse is silly and trivial. I'm not condoning it, but really, what do you expect when a bunch of whiny bitches rant about how video games are evil and misogynist (just like metal, porn, comic books, dieting, sitting with your legs spread, and everything else, including sex itself).

There would be tremendous damage. The gay agenda, the reckless destruction of norms literally thousands of years old, is the defining issue of our time. The base is livid over lawless, activist judges. Romney (who I still genuinely doubt was actually trying to win) shamefully ignored the homosexual agenda and suffered the consequences. Probably because he secretly supported it as well, judging from his record as governor.

And let's face it, the GOP has no creative economic plans, so it needs to rally people on the social issues.

It's like stepping into a time machine and going back to 2004.

You forcefully condemned the Charlie Hebdo attackers for killing a group of people just because they disagreed with said group's views...and now you're advocating that the exact same thing happen to a group of people just because you disagree with their views.

That is actually one of the most intelligent things I have ever seen Bushie post, and it indicates that at least one poster here understands how scientific knowledge works.  Scientific knowledge is testable and tentative.  It is a great frustration among scientists everywhere that the public understands the dogma of science so little.  The fact that at least one non-scientist on this forum understands this is refreshing.  At least to me it is.

Facts are data.  Data are observations.  Observations are not rules.  Rules are laws, empirically-determined and reproducible.  The conclusions drawn from those observations--observables, data, and facts--and the models which are built upon those analyses, are always subject to future debate.  Understanding this is central to understanding how scientific knowledge is established.  (And how it is overturned, which happens frequently.)

Until just now, I've never posted in this particular thread, but memphis' inclusion of Bushie's insightful post definitely merits comment.  I'm not picking on memphis in particular, because I think his misgivings are common.  We need to do a much better job at explaining how scientific facts are collected and how scientific knowledge is established.  Bushie seems to have paid attention to his instructors at least once.

Within the context of where the quote came from, it is, indeed, an absurd, ignorant statement.

No, it makes full sense that someone can find something helpful to how they feel that they don't have a scientific explanation for. The idea that someone might find Sprite easier on a nauseous stomach than water isn't some outlandish idea anyway. If only Bushie knew a little science though, he might realize that King's statement that Sprite is functionally equivalent to Coke isn't accurate anyway, given things like caffeine and pH (Sprite is actually less acidic than Coke, not more).

(Sprite is actually less acidic than Coke, not more).

That's interesting.  I didn't know that.  Out of curiosity, I just determined the pH of a coca-cola (12 ounce can) with a calibrated pH meter in my office and I measured 2.51 for Coca Cola.  I also tested Mountain Dew (3.29) and Fanta Orange Soda (2.88).  I don't have a sprite handy but I may bring some tomorrow and measure it.  Caffeine is alkaline and therefore will raise the pH, yet MD is less acidic than CC, even though it has more caffeine.  I suppose that the amount of phosphoric acid in CC is higher.  It is probably the case that Sprite has less phosphoric acid as well, if it has a higher pH, since it has no caffeine to offset.
