Religious freedom. Forcing someone to obey a law that's against their religion is a violation of civil liberties.

What happens if they change religions, or change interpretation of their existing religion and now support things they once opposed and oppose things they once supported. Can they now ignore different bits of the law depending on what they decide to believe in?

Why should religious freedom be the only 'freedom' that should be allowed to opt out of the law. What about non-religious positions? What about ethical stances? Political ones, ideological ones. If you are a self described fascist and the traditions and stances of fascism resonate with you in your daily life and give you order, purpose and morals, should you be allowed to opt out of the laws that go against your fascist beliefs?

What about the other parts of the First Amendment? If it's your Freedom of Speech to say you think the races shouldn't mix, should you be allowed to ignore a law that's against their personal beliefs? Should the press be allowed to ignore the law because their rights are protected?

I stopped watching this show because of how they're making such an evil couple into the protagonists...
So I suspect Breaking Bad is unwatchable too.

Yeah, it was pretty disgusting.

Racism used to mean hatred of a race. Now it's been redefined to pretty much mean "a White person did something with prefacing it with an apology for being White"

it would be a no-brainer if "SJWs" were true egalitarians gone wrong or crazy.  I don't think they are.  RPs live in the real world to a much greater extent and thus are capable of genuine dialog.

Wulfric, what is opinion of the right of the Episcopal Church of New York to marry same-sex couples? Should they have their religious freedom stripped because a majority of Christian denominations disagree?

That church does not practice Christianity in the best methods, true. But god would not want us shutting down an attempt at worship, no matter how futile. Hopefully through thought and prayer, that church will realize the error of its ways and stop performing same sex marriages.

Context:

EDIT: Had to add WillipsBrighton misunderstanding what an intersectionalist is and whining about white people being discriminated against:

Again, this is just a case of intersectionalists wanting White people to apologize for being White every time they do anything.

Iggy Azalea can rap but only if she acknowledges that rap was invited by Black people? Everyone knows rap was invited by Black people. Azalea knows that and she does not try to claim otherwise.

Frankly she was too soft on Q-tip, his comments were insulting. Everyone said he "schooled her" as if she was unaware rap is Black thing.

It's really bizarre that intersectionalists simultaneously accuse her of "trying to be Black" and not admitting that Black people invited rap.

Can she be sued for death threats?

Unfortunately not, what with the United States' ridiculous free speech protections.

It's times like this when I really wonder whether to term 'Liberal" is really appropriate.

It's times like this when I wonder when you're going to just stop posting.

We've reached peak Atlas with this thread.

I almost have to wonder if this is some behind the scenes game to get O'Malley out of the race so that she can have a coronation.

Clinton. the world can't afford a climate denier in the White House.

It says something, that annoying as the Clintons are, she'd still probably be the best of the G20 leaders (who else can compete - Dilma? Renzi? Jokowi?)

Rousseff and Xi are probably the best, which is not really a compliment to them.

Being a Jew means being a minority. When they became a majority, they stopped being Jews.

Seriously bro, Israel is the only democratic country in that neck of the woods. Iran is a Islamist dictatorship. I'd only strike if we were in a formally declared war with Iran or their ISIS allies.

The court ruled against segregation not because the facilities were de facto unequal but because they claimed it psychologically implied inferiority. Do we have any evidence that most blacks actually opposed segregation before 1954? Legally speaking, what the majority happens to think is irrelevant to whether it is lawful. I'm sure you can some men who claim that existing laws stigmatize them as perverts.

It was in my opinion completely constitutional, whether or not it was morally right. The court should not be reinterpreting the constitution no matter how noble minded. Even if the court had done nothing the racial restrictions would have eventually have been abolished. It would have been better to do that than traumatize both races. But I don't think you can equate racial restrictions on marriage, which was a pure American invention with the fundamental gender restrictions on marriage.

I guess that's what I meant. And yikes, that's even worse. Sales taxes are even more regressive than a flat tax.

Flat tax proposals are only regressive to people who don't understand how they work and who don't understand the value of having a single marginal tax bracket.

The statistical reality that blacks commit vastly higher crime rates than whites did not stop racial integration and the statistical reality of rampant disease among gays has not stopped calls for gay marriage. So why is everybody here so confident that "common sense" will prevail on all these other issues?

For the record, I reject the concept of natural rights as a vague and useless abstract. Despite this difference in core philosophy, however, I suppose AI has done more good than harm in many instances.
