Why do you say that? They have a Black Muslim representative who is actually probably slightly to the left of Bernie. The local primary voters/convention delegates have a long history of picking candidates to the left of whoever the party establishment has picked (Rybak, Hodges, Franken, Dayton).
Black Muslims do not vote for Jewish socialists

I'm Jewish, and I'm extremely offended by DavidB.'s posts.

2012 was a GOP wave year

Obama only won reelection by four states and the Dems only made 2 Senate pickups

In a regular year (2006, 2008, etc.) you would see that NC is much swingier than MN
Oldie but a goldie. 2006 and 2008 were "regular years". 2012 was a "GOP wave year". Okay...

I've always been annoyed by the assumption that the "natural state of things" is a tie in the popular vote, but yeah, that post is just as bad.

Context, but it's bad enough without context.

This kind of revisionism out of PC sentiments is generally utter nonsense. I have no reason to assume it's different in this case.

Unless you're TNF, you're not a real socialist.

He's actually right that New Hampshire has a slightly higher percentage of self-identified liberals than Illinois, but that doesn't translate to being more Democratic.

I would like to know more about your political views when you were 5.

Probably asked his parents why a crazy woman and black man were running for the highest office in the land and extrapolating from that Bush being batsh**t crazy

More or less.

I thought I was the most politically aware 5-year-old ever. I knew that Bush and Gore and Nader were the candidates and that my parents preferred Gore but that's about it.

I became a politics nerd at 11, and I thought I was precocious...

I don't think there was a specific moment when I became a political nerd. I have just become more and more of one throughout my life.

Hillary needs to pick a woman as her Veep.  By this point, if she picks a man as a running-mate, it would (and should) be viewed as an act of weakness, as if she is surrendering to the rampant (and blatant) misogyny being thrown at her every single day and night.

While I disagree with that post, it's nice to have a balance aganst the "Hillary NEEDS to choose a white guy!" rhetoric I've seen.

I'll be the dick who says that I thought that joke was funny, though I'd rather wish a flat tire or a lack of gas on ClassicConservative.

Shouldn't your sig have Donald instead of Thomas?

Like her party has room to talk. They have an actual, admitted socialist making a serious play for their nomination.

That's one way to put it, but really it's just racism.

It's racism, but coming from someone who wouldn't be acting racist if the majority of black people were voting for the "right" candidate.

That was the only time that I was legitimately happy that someone was banned from Atlas.

Hey, I was referring to the very historic moment of his defeat. Is it my fault he used his children as campaign props?

How do you know that he used his children as campaign props?

If we could ban alcohol, 95% of all crime would instantly disappear, I would wager!!

It worked so well the last time we tried that!

I'm posting this here because of the "Jewish" part.

A Jewish former banker? No way the Bernie Bros would support him, after the kind of disgusting campaign Sanders has been running.

Looks like a great post out of context, but it's actually a terrible post in context:

Yeah, Trump definitely won't get my vote now.

It's even more hilarious to have a 13-year old talking like they have a vote in the first place.

I didn't even think of that, but maybe he's talking about 2020?

Jeez. The racists and the neocons are really coming out of the wood work in this poll.

I don't quite understand what's wrong with this post. Huh

How do you celebrate Hariet Tubman without disparaging Jackson? Seems to me that celebrating Hariet Tubman in and of itself is disparaging Jackson in the same way that celebrating the White Rose would be inherently disparaging to Hitler.
I agree, celebrating Tubman's life by putting her on the $20 to replace Jackson is somewhat disparaging to Jackson in itself. Webb's point was about more than who is on the bill, though. I can live with Tubman replacing Jackson on the $20 - she's worthy of such a high honor - what bothers me is the public and the media unceremoniously tossing out one of America's most important historical leaders and stomping on his legacy. Jackson led the way in making America a unique, dare I say exceptional, country - a democracy ruled from the bottom-up. Instead of viewing Jackson through the lens of white resentment and anachronistic moral standards, we should look at the big picture and remember him as an imperfect, but brave leader who made an enduring impact on this country.

What is with this meme that Andrew Jackson led to democracy? Much of the expansion of the franchise came before Jackson ever took office. I would give credit to Van Buren before Jackson, because Van Buren actually led the Democratic Party during the time period, while Jackson was just the figurehead out front. Jackson did, however, appeal to the expanded electorate.

The main reason I posted that here was because of the "anachronistic moral standards" line. It's funny how people who make comments like that only judge people according to the "moral standards" of white people at that time.

Van Buren and Madison are very underrated. One was the first to actually fight slavery and not be a monarchist, and the other literally created our government almost single handedly.

The first six presidents were monarchists?

Our resident Emily Dickinson-hating alt-right creep strikes again!

The most brilliant, cerebral Christian I know - a guy who studied everything about the ancient theological debates and scholastic-medieval philosophers and really just knows everything about the Church - is an ex-Catholic who left because of Francis's Muslim-shilling.

...yikes. What is he now?

Obviously some form of Eastern Orthodox - the non-cucked version of Catholicism.

My breaking point with Catholicism came when Francis compounded that with his blatant illegal & PP shilling. I am sympathetic to evangelicals who call the Pope the anti-Christ, but at the end of the day, I think I'm done with organized Christianity now.

Plus, in a world where Trump fails, we might as well convert to Islam when that window of opportunity is still open.

I had no idea Derpist was that bad.
