Comparing a nation's finances to a household budget is simplistic and ridiculous.

And IIRC, you yourself dismissed such a comparison back in 2012 or 2013 from someone else complaining about an impending debt crisis.

I find most people who worry about the debt like to use the household analogy so I've since turned it to prove how even in household analogy, worrying about the debt is stupid.

It doesn't change the fact that worrying about the debt is stupid.

New Orleans is 3 hours from Pensacola, though?

New Orleans is 3 hours from Pensacola?
If you get zero traffic the entire way. And it's not on the gulf. And it isn't like a 3 hour trip is nearby anyway.

In Bushie's defense, in Oklahoma and New Mexico, 3 hours is a sensible distance between two cities.

'The most normal and straightforward interpretation of Japanese history' most certainly does not analyze the Meiji Restoration-to-Pacific War period and the Occupation-to-Lost Decade period as one continuous era, far less parts of the same 'golden age'.

I don't blame historians for dividing up such a long and interesting period into parts; especially since when these two periods were delineated, the golden age was still going on and seemed 'normal.'

Haha, yea, I feel like that sometimes too.

Wow. Just wow.

I think there's a nice blank piece of paper element of having a boring white guy host. He can go in any direction and then use the correspondents to fine tune the routine.

I'd like for my belief to be wrong, but when it comes to American comedy, it simply isn't. Non-white American comics are expected to joke about their race. That's distracting for a news show.

Wulfric, what is opinion of the right of the Episcopal Church of New York to marry same-sex couples? Should they have their religious freedom stripped because a majority of Christian denominations disagree?

That church does not practice Christianity in the best methods, true. But god would not want us shutting down an attempt at worship, no matter how futile. Hopefully through thought and prayer, that church will realize the error of its ways and stop performing same sex marriages.

Ah. Well, the OP wasn't asking about the Senate in that thread. FreeBird make a lot of absurd posts but that was among the least deluged of them.

A Republican? Who knows? Sounds more like something a Democrat would say. Didn't they have a Klansman as Obama's 3rd in line after Biden and Pelosi?

A bad reply to a bad thread.
