Ill go with Fairytale of New York, although my favorite Pogues song is Rainy night in Soho. As for Fairytale of New York itself, Ive grown partial to Christy Moore's rendition.

Btw, how did you get into the genre Snowstalker?  Ive seen you post a lot of songs.  Here is one for ya my red brother:

One of the 100+ Sufjan Stevens Christmas songs probably. Love that crazy son of a bitch.

This one's pretty rad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vd9F-xDIbgg

I like the traditional carols - Angels We Have Heard on High, O Holy Night, The First Noel, Joy to the World, Silent Night, Away in a Manger, etc.

YES THIS.

And not just in terms of Sufjan in general, but that song, which isn't simply the best Christmas song, but is pretty far up there as far as songs go, period.  I may have listened to it obsessively over and over for long stretches last year.

Traditional secular songs - "Last Christmas," "Snoopy's Christmas," "Winter Wonderland," "Jingle Bell Rock," et. al.

Of the religious songs, probably "Silent Night" and "We Three Kings."

I really don't know a lot of the really obscure or new age stuff. The radio stations around here start right before Thanksgiving and for about 5 weeks play all the conventional songs like I mentioned. Someone named Kimberley Locke has a nice version of "Up on the Housetop." But the Christmas music on the radio is over now. Sad It should run through January 1.

I'd say my favorites are O Holy Night and The First Noel.

I may or may not have been an enormous fan of Fairytale of New York as a small 2nd grader, singing it in the halls...

Ideally, American "Christmastime" would run from about December 20th to January 6th rather than starting at Thanksgiving and ending abruptly at around noon on December 25th.

Open presents on the "First Day of Christmas" and then spend the rest of Christmastide engaging in merrymaking, fellowship and other types of holiday festivities.

This, although I like a lot of the pop songs, too.
