Used to be the only thing I used on the site. Now it's getting ridiculous. The Hillary Landslide stuff needs to go. The Lincoln thread is just awful trolling.

Quite funny, which is bad for a "serious" board, I suppose. There should probably be both a troll board and a serious board, with the serious one not opening until mid/late 2015.

I actully wrote a parody about Rand Paul winning a 50 state landslide, but decided against posting it, but the whole juvenile atmosphere and the lack of real action to talk about just makes trolling tempting..

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

Possibly the only place on the planet where people believe that the voters swing because the VP candidate of one ticket is from a state adjacent to them and that this effect has a noticeable effect on the election.

Meh, I check in occasionally, but Mr. Morden's Tea Leaves threads are the best things by far to follow there during times when we don't yet know who will run.

Mildly bad, but do Updaters really have a right to critique?

Well having dropped into it, in a way I never did before, it's not that bad. Kids like to wrest some glimpse of the future out of the most limited data, and then argue that one speculation is better than another, and then do data dumps from the past and extrapolations thereof of varying degrees of salience and relevance, and on and on, because it isn't much fun to just chill and admit  that the biggest variable of all is future events that cannot really be predicted, and candidate resilience, that is based on rather limited impressions, at least with many of the candidates.

It's only gotten worse recently.

Wonder if that has to do with how often you post there.

Welcome to the 2016 board. Here's your complimentary tissue box and bottle of lotion. Sit down and grab the guy next to you.

The Tea Leaves Thread is about all there is to read. The rest is a he said/she said tug of war between people who are convinced of a Hillary landslide and people convinced that Hillary will be defeated in a landslide.

As Harold Wilson said, "A week is a long time in politics." There are something like 70-80 weeks until the election so at this point there is a very fine line between the 2016 board and the Election What-Ifs board. People probably shouldn't expect any better of it at this stage.
