A companion to the other thread. Let's say social conservatives do die out. What if the moderate branch of the GOP, fearing the baggage from an increasingly socially liberal public, decided to merge with the Libertarian Party to become the Liberty Republic Party, attracting more right-leaning Democrats in the process? The conservatives form, what else, the Conservative Party. What would a presidential map look like with the more conservative members now isolated, but with the social liberals and Demorat-leaning moderates that once plagued the complete GOP now flocking to the new party?

The social conservatives die out and then form their own party?
