Samaras links the Charlie Hebdo massacre to immigration.

http://www.thetoc.gr/eng/politics/article/samars-seeks-to-use-charlie-hebdo-massacre-for-electoral-gain

“SYRIZA is somewhere else, it wants to give mass citizenship insurance and social security to illegal immigrants. You see what is happening today in Europe, everything is changing in a dramatic way. In France the socialist Hollande brought the military out in the streets. Today in Paris there was a slaughter and here some people are inviting more illegal immigrants and giving out citizenship"

Disgusting. Hopefully this clown will get his deserved thrashing.

How in the world has PASOK rebounded to 5% after falling below the threshold? Huh

Pasok never fell under the threshold in polling, at least not in any of the polls listed on the wiki. Actually their worst polling result is 3.5% in the Palmos poll this week. It really seems as if the two polls we talked about earlier putting them below Kidiso were nothing more than scams. That or the people maintaining the wiki on polling in Greece are Pasok officials. Still, all the other polls that came out since have Pasok 2 pts above Kidiso.

Ah, I see.

I remember XA was underpolled in June 2012. Maybe the pollsters have found ways to account for that, but still, sadly I do expect them to do better.

Just wanting to say I've been reading this thread assiduously from its start. I didn't want to post in it for fear that the results would disappoint me once again, but, amazingly, for once things went right! Smiley Well, almost: it's quite frustrating to see Syriza so friggin' close to an absolute majority, which would have provided for a lot more safety in the battles that will soon ensue. Still, this is a great day for democracy, for Greece, and for Europe.

Looks like Marine Le Pen of the French National Front is also a Syriza supporter, outside of Syriza's immigration policy.  The move toward ANEL will probably confirm those feelings.

Marine Le Pen is obviously trying to cash in on Syriza's success (even though their platforms have really nothing in common), but I don't see how that's relevant to Greece in any way.

Gotta love how this guy manage to spin the fact that anti-austerity forces enjoy a 12-point advantage over pro-austerity ones in the Greek electorate into an indication that Europe "should not be afraid of standing up to the new Athens coalition". Roll Eyes

The Greek people have spoken, and the results are clear to even the most stubborn hack.
