Thomas from NJ at least takes his religion seriously, which is more than you can say of BRTD, who goes to church for the beer and CHRISTIAN HARDCORE EMOVIOLENCE

They sucked the mystery out of it.  Probably the effect of baby boomers moving into leadership positions in the school system during the 90s.  "Make everything fascist but pretend to be their best friends!" said every Baby Boomer ever about Millennials.

Context:

A farcical referendum with a ridiculous question in a laughable autonomous entity within a parody of a country?

I stand on whatever general principle there is to the effect that, if you are overly concerned about this kind of thing, that is clear indication that you have things very good in your life.

Short answer: no. Since atheism is a complete rejection of anything supernatural.

No, dude.  Theism is a belief in god(s); atheism is the absence of theism.  Atheism is not the "complete rejection" (whatever that means) of anything supernatural.  Atheism isn't necessarily the complete rejection of anything, besides the complete rejection of theism (definitionally).

An atheist can believe in witchcraft, ghosts, magic, etc. There isn't an atheist Pope who will atheist-excommunicate them for doing so.
I get the impression that Richard Dawkins would like to be the atheist pope if there were such a thing.

In short: You can't criticize AAD groupthink/Kool Kidz Klub when you yourselves are breeding your own "exclusivity" here by dismissing everything from AAD in a kneejerk fashion.

The idea that 'having an understanding of science' should automatically imply certain policy positions and value judgments is completely stupid and painfully self-congratulatory.

Is it bad that I couldn't tell whether it meant Democratic or Republican by reading this thread's title?

Yes.

Both of them are jokes, McCain ideologically, Romney personally. They should not be taken seriously, but I suppose why nobody cares for McCain yet is that he's still a Senator, while Romney is out of politics (not holding office). Also, Romney was the last nominee, nobody remembers McCain anymore.

I always love when an anonymous member of an internet board calls extremely accomplished Presidential nominees "jokes"...

I wouldn't say it is a persecution complex. If you are anywhere close to even center-right and express that opinion, you are savaged here, condescended to, and just treated unkindly here for the most part. Of course there are exceptions, but folks like me, Phil, and oldiesfreak are treated unfairly on a regular basis.

Metal is working class, making it a target of derision by both the right and the most visible sector of the puhgressive left.

Good thing Subway isn't like the Catholic Church or they'd just transfer him to another Subway.

Headline: liberals shocked at emergence of white identity politics after having pushed non-white identity politics for 30+ years.

People's views of what Jesus was "really all about" almost invariably tell you more about their proponents than they do about Jesus of Nazareth.

I find it funny that in France, we would be at the same time cheering to the UK leaving the EU and jealous that they were able to do so.

Summary of the polls since the start of the month...

ZL between 3% and 15%

This quotation should be final argument when someone will ask why we do not post Polish polls there Tongue

They could but I doubt many would want to much like my current 87% Obama neighborhood.

Factors normal people use to decide where to live

Cost
Commute
Quality of schools

Obama's result in 2012
