Yes, eventually, as well as it can work anywhere. The idea that there are Certain Cultures where folks Just Can't Rule Themselves, as something that renders democracy somehow permanently unworkable always and forever rather than just making it difficult to get off the ground, strikes me as inherently racist.

Refusing to vaccinate should be classified as "child abuse." Problem solved.

Historically, Vermont was the most Republican State in the Union, consistently having either the highest or second highest Republican vote percentage from the founding of the Republican Party thru the election of 1936. It wasn't until 1964 that Vermont ever voted for a Democratic presidential candiadte and it wouldn't do so again until 1992.

I think it's probably best if everyone reads the thread before examining the post itself. Seems there's a fairly large chance it was sarc. Tongue

One of these is a morbidly obese man who has the worst possible judgment in all situations. He is completely incapable of learning from his mistakes, consistently makes the worst possible choice in every possible scenario, and is a deranged manchild completely lacking in maturity who has no understanding whatsoever of how his actions affect others and the negative impact he has in general.

The other is a cartoon character.

Cross posted with the Funny thread, because while it made me literally LOL I don't think anyone would disagree with it:

"Both" would be preferable to him just being a run of the mill member of ISIS.  I wish all the ISIS fighters were more like Bushie, as it would greatly improve the situation in Iraq and Syria.

Bushie...I don't think this works.

The fact that you have ever voted for any Demoncrat ever automatically makes you a far left Marxist in Oklahoma. In fact, not only did you vote for a run of the mill Demoncrat, you voted for the Kenyan in the White Hut twice. That's an unforgivable sin in Oklahoma. You're trapped either way. Sad Though maybe I-OK would work?

I thought about I-OK, but I decided on R-OK on account of my support for Chris Christie.

I'm surprised you support Christie. Do you have anything in common with him besides size?

No. No. Just no. If there is one single poster in the forum's entire history who should be kept away from it forever, it's Hamilton.

Post of the year-so-far:

I don't know how much politics even play into it.  He's a Cuomo-winger.

Andrew Cuomo doesn't care about New York.  He doesn't care about the people of this state.  He doesn't care about the wisdom of his decisions.  He doesn't care who he hurts.  He always makes the decision that is politically easiest for Andrew Cuomo.  So, he uses budgetary alchemy that he hopes nobody will call him on.  He would steal candy from a baby, he would sucker punch your grandmother, he would light an orphanage on fire, he would tie a damsel to the rail road tacks, as long as he thought it would be politically beneficial and safe for Andrew Cuomo.  He has no scruples.  As we say in New York, he's gaab-age.

Atlas has rules against socks for a number of reasons. It does legitimate discourse no favors to have someone create fake posters simply for the narcissistic purpose of arguing and scoring points. It shows a complete lack of respect for the limited number of actual rules we have around here. And it hampers the integrity of that silly little Atlas government simulation that so many of you seem to like.

A lot of you seem to think that the rules shouldn't apply if a poster is a friend of yours or appears to be a "nice guy." That's not how this site -- or the real world -- works.

Does it really count as a hiatus if you were going to be asleep during that time anyway?

Let's summarize the arguments for a ban:

1) "Wahhh, he was a troll over 5 years ago"
2) "Wahhh, he fooled us for years and got away with it"
3) "Wahhh, Napoleon beat me in Atlasia"

You guys are so lame.

He started running for president the second he became governor and it shows. He was more interested in checking off the national conservative bucket list than in running his state well. The hot mess that is their voucher program is proof of that.

What kind of idiot wants to live in a 'high crime' area? Literally no one (aside from maybe some middle or upper class dipsh#ts who think it's 'exciting') who has to live in a high crime area wants to do so. They have to, more often than not, because they can't afford to live anywhere else.

More to the point, it is generally never a very good idea to call any woman a "bitch" unless either a) she is literally a dog, or b) you are writing a what-if timeline and this is uttered by a pissed off character.

FF, as they understand how left-wing goals are actually accomplished in this country.

By voting for a party whose mainstream has not been remotely leftist in 40 years?

The Democratic party has done a heck of a lot more for the causes of economic and social equality and justice in the past 40 years than Kshama Sawant and co. could ever hope to achieve.
