Sucked on a worldly level, but was pretty meh for me personally. On one hand, I got accepted into my #1 college and got a lot happier as a person, but then again I still experienced some extreme battles of depression. HY on par.

Economy didn't do that well until the end after the election, Q3, where it didn't do any good for the Dems in this midterm.

Of course racial profiling by police and the protests.

Pretty bad year both for me personally and for the world, so not a fan. Hope 2015 will be better.

Meh year personally-there were some excellent high points but a lot of it was just a slog.

Sh!tty year for the world in general though. GOP senate, Russians in Ukraine, Genocide in the C.A.R. Iraq, etc.

ISIS, Ukraine, the Midterm debacle, Sweden turning xenophobic, Scotland saying no... Politically, it sucked big time.

Personally, it was meh. I developed a few good friendships, but my academics stagnated and I became increasingly insecure about my future.

So HY overall I guess.

Another year that went by in a flash and featured both good and bad. 2015 will likely be the same!

No year that claimed the life of Robin Williams can be considered a freedom year.

A great year for me personally but that means nothing in the greater scheme of things. A horrible year for the world with everything that happened.

Personally 2014 has been the best year I've been alive. However, a terrible year for the world.

On a world level the year was pretty objectively bad. Personally my life is moving nowhere.

Personally, this was the worst year of my life, mainly because I lost some (3) family members, and I haven't been very lucky this year overall. Things got A LOT better though near the end of the year though. All the other years of my life so far have been great or ok except for 2013 (2013 was below average) and 2014 (awful year).

It has been a below average year for the world though. Could've been worse.

2015 will almost certainly be better.

A lot of bad went on in the world (ISIS, EU being the EU, Putin being Putin to name three examples), along with some terrible losses (Robin Williams, Phil Hughes, and Richard Kiel to name three) but VERY good for me personally, and I think 2015 will definitely continue that trend.

All in all, FY, given what happened to me personally this year.

Crappy for the world of course but fairly productive for myself, despite a couple rough patches.

Massive HY, which probably only 2013 can top in terms of bad years. It's just been terrible, with practically no redeeming factors whatsoever. I don't care about having a great year, but I just want this year to be a good year.
