FC Chess Tournament 6

Ok, folks, assuming everyone who said they were interested will play, here is how we will proceed.

First, make sure you have a signed up for a free account at http://gameknot.com

We have six players, so we will conduct a five-round round-robin tournament.  I have placed those who have declared interest in the following positions.

1.  Franzl
2.  locke lamora
3.  CTRattlesnake
4.  Oldiesfreak
5.  Vosem
6.  Malespina Gold

The first-round pairings will be:

Franzl (White) vs. Malespina Gold (Black)
locke lamora (White) vs. Vosem (Black)
CTRattlesnake (White) vs. Oldiesfreak (Black)

In order to start your games, all players have to share their gameknot userids, perhaps over this thread, so that the players with the White pieces can send the players with the Black pieces a challenge to a game.  Players who are sending the challenge, please set your time controls for your games to 2 days per move.  I hope all the first-round games can begin within a few days.  All this can be done here.

Players who do not respond with a move on time will lose their games on flag-fall unless they notify either their opponent or the tournament director (me) on this thread of a need to delay the game beforehand. 

Once your games have started, please post the Gameknot links to your boards on this thread, so that those interested--and I as the director, can follow your progress.

Well, on the initial thread "Does Anyone Play Chess?" by CTRattlesnake, you responded:

I haven't played recently because I don't know any chess players but I'm really good at it.

I then asked later in that thread if the people who had posted would be interested in playing, then I started this thread with the same question, since no one had opted out after a few days.  If you don't want to play in the tournament, of course, let me know and we can try to find someone who would like to.  If we can't, the current round-robin format can also work with five players and someone will get a bye and a full point in each round.  Cheers.

Since we don't seem to be getting responses from either Vosem or Oldiesfreak, and lock may not be interested in playing, how about we do this for now?  If I don't get confirmation from any of these three regarding whether they're in or out in another day (by Tuesday), I'll plug jdb into Vosem's place so that CTRattlesnake can get a game started.  Then, if we need another player to have at least five, I'll redo the pairings and we will go from there.

jdb, how about you sign up for an account at Gameknot as described above, tell CTRattlesnake your id on that website, and he can send you a game challenge with the game settings as described in the OP.  Basically, for the moment, I'm replacing Oldiesfreak with jdb in the pairings, so now the seeds and the first-round pairings look like this.
