Former Republican Senator Edward Brooke who was Massachusetts's first Black Attorney General and later it's first African American Senator(and the first U.S. Senator since reconstruction to represent any state) has died.

He was 95 years old.

I swear to God, last night I was reading about how he was the oldest living Senator...literally last night. This is the third or forth time I've read up on some politician only to have them die the next day. John Glenn is now the oldest living ex Senator.

That claim just isn't true. The myth of the moderate GOP is quite annoying. While it didn't have the Tea Party fervor, it was still a staunchly right wing party.
