We had a high of 26°F just after midnight.  The front moved through at 8am as the temp fell 15°F in a half hour.  Tomorrow we can expect temperatures to remain below -10°F all day.  We wont climb above 0°F until Thursday.  This after a relatively mild (and cloudiest on record) December.  What a crap winter so far.

We'll be seeing some of that in Chicagoland, too. There was a dusting of snow last night and temps hovered just above freezing with light rain today. Tonight will dip to just under freezing with some accumulation of snow. From 9 am Sun to 5 am Mon the temps are expected to drop 30 degrees to -1 F with -20 F wind chill. The real cold is supposed to arrive for us on Wed with a low of -16 F and -35 F wind chill.
